The study also assessed the users’ ratings of satisfaction, craving reduction, aversion, and harm perception after using each product.
The results showed that nicotine delivery was greatest for combustible cigarettes, followed by JUUL2 in 40 mg/mL, IQOS, JUUL2 in 18 mg/mL, and JUUL in 59 mg/mL. Nicotine delivery from JUUL2 in 18 mg/mL was significantly greater than JUUL in 59 mg/mL after ad libitum use, which suggests that JUUL2 has a more efficient nicotine delivery system than JUUL. JUUL products were significantly more satisfying and effective at reducing craving than IQOS, which indicates that nicotine delivery is not the only factor that influences the user’s experience.
